Ocaso Delivers Quick With A Demko Designed Gentleman’s Carry

The Ocaso Solstice is a Good Way for the New Kid on the Block to get Noticed.

We spent a lot of time at Shot Show 2023 interviewing knife makers and designers, but we still came up short. One of the new knife companies we totally missed was Ocaso, so we reached out to them after SHOT Show to get their story.

This company just went live in the Fall of 2022, but they hit the ground running with a solid line-up of pocket folders from an impressive line-up of designers including the likes of Mike Wallace and David Seaton. Their most recent announcement is an Italian-made Damascus version of their Demko-designed Solstice, a slim folder with an ambidextrous, deep-carry clip. I happen to have the titanium-handled version with S35VN steel resting comfortably in my pocket, and it is exactly what you would expect a Demko designed gentleman’s carry to be. Although I must admit I never expected such a knife to exist.

The Damascus version of the Solstice should begin shipping soon, but the original versions are available now with options for titanium or carbon fiber scales, and either a black or satin finished blade.

Stay tuned for more news on this promising new company. We just wrapped up an interview with founders Ric and Tisa Valdez, and we will be posting that in the next few weeks.
