Popular designs like the Facet and Snap-Lock are getting a limited run of iridescent finishes.
It’s looking suspiciously mermaid-ish over at CRKT right now as they drop 5 new products featuring a pastel-like colors on the handles and blades. Their new pry tool, the Hang Pry, has the same look, although we’re not sure how long the look is going to stick around given use of the term “limited run” in their release.
The New Pry Bar
The HangPry is a pretty simple thing: a slab of titanium with a single-beveled shaping at the end that can scrape, pry, and cut (up to a point*).
Full length is 3.5-inches in total, and features a lanyard hole, so this is a pretty compact tool that should fit in your your pocket easily.
*Metaphorically.
The Colorful Updates
There are two new Facets available. Both have the new color in the handle; the real difference is in the blade steel.
The low-end side goes softer but arguably tougher than the D2 of the original with Sandvik 12C27 steel.
On the other end, they’ve slapped a 110-layer Damascus blade with with a titanium handle. Besides just looking more striking, that also brings the weight down to 2.9 oz, which is about an ounce ligher than usual.
The Snap Lock designed by Ed VanHoy, is an odd pieces that has fascinated CRKT customers for about two decades with an open-frame handle, and a pivot system that opens the blade out the side rather than the front. It isn’t getting a materials update, but the rainbow finish goes from tip to pommel and even extends into the included fob.
