A Brand New American Made Kershaw, The Iridium Enters the Launch Series, and the Bel Air Gets a Micarta Handle.
A healthy swing of new folders came out from Kershaw on May 19, with a mix of updated blades, and brand new models from both overseas and US factories.
New Launch 21 Even more Newer Now

Maybe the big news is the new Kershaw Launch 21 Iridium. This was actually announced back in March. basically they took the Iridium model and gave it the Launch button-lock treatment. But it was originally released in all black (black aluminum handle and black PVD coating on a Magnacut blade).
As of Monday, the Launch 21 is available in CPM-M4 steel (still with black PVD coating), and a brown aluminum handle with black G10 inserts.
The Iridium entering the Launch series also means it’s made in America, so there’s a lot of potential good here for fans of automatics.
The Other New US Made Models

Two other US-made offerings on the table from Kershaw, one an update, and one brand new:
- The Remnant is the brand new kid here. It has a 3.25-inch spear point blade in D2 steel with a Micarta handle, and features Kershaw’s Duralock crossbar lock.
- The Bel Air (originally released with a modified wharncliffe blade and aluminum scales) is now available with a clip point blade and a Micarta handle.
The New Imported Budget Options

Also in the drop is a shot of mid-sized pocket knives in the easy-carry budget range:
- The Runoff is a flipper with a 3-inch clip point blade in 8Cr13MoV steel, a GFN handle, liner lock, and a deep-carry reversible pocket clip.
- The Outfield is a slim assisted-open flipper with a 2.8-inch blade in 4Cr14 steel, a GFN handle, liner lock, and a deep-carry reversible pocket clip.
- The Sequence is a clip point folder with thumb stud opening, a Duralock, GFN handles, and a deep-carry reversible pocket clip.
All models should be available now from Kershaw’s website, and most (if not all) at the typical online vendors.
