You can now get an 9-inch chef’s knife and a 7-inch santoku knife featuring Ka-Bar’s iconic rounded handle shape, putting Ka-Bar in a steadily growing group of outdoor and tactical knife companies who make kitchen knives.
Here are the quick specs:
Blade Steel: | 1.4116 stainless |
Handle Material: | Canvas Micarta |
Storage: | Magnetic tray |
Made in: | Germany |
Both knives are full tang with sloped partial bolsters and Micarta handles shaped like the leather handles on their famous military knives like the Ka-Bar USMC.
Interestingly, the blade blanks for these knives are made in Solingen, Germany. A terminology that suggests some of the finishing edge work is being done in the Ka-Bar factory. Regardless, these knives feature a standard kitchen knife steel that has a reputation for toughness and easy maintenance in the kitchen.
They’re both available now from the Ka-Bar website.
